A little advice please guys...

Requirements :

Under £125
Good picture and sound quality, screen size not critical.
Sound build quality
Must play recordable and rewriteable disks with no bitching
(preferably + and -, as I haven't settled on a DVD recorder yet either!)

For my daughters birthday ;)

Any experience out there?

Appreciated.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

£125 ?

Do you need a screen as well as the player ?

I was thinking of one of the better laptops from 2003 would have a DVD player and the screen, now of course they are soooo last year. But they have other advantages.

Hey, that looks just the ticket.

I'll go and play with one ASAP ;)

  • 7" LCD screen
  • widescreen LCD
  • 2.5 hours battery life
  • CD compatible playback
  • CD/CD-R/RW compatible playback
  • DVD/DVD-R/RW compatible playback
Nice find.

Thought about an old lappie, but they tend to be either more cash, or older, have battery problems, and loads of draws on my time keeping them running.

:)

Cheers

Blimey, that's impressive!

Cheers m8, I might just go for that on spec (errr... price!) alone.

Also I brand I've heard of (not that it means much these days).

:D

Play also have the Phillips DVDR610 DVD recorder for under a ton delivered...

... anyone know what "Automatic Satellite Recording" as a feature on the latter is and how it works?

Went for the Mustek from Play. Will report back on quality.

Spec is crazy. Plays all variants of DVD recordable, 5.1, AV out, in-car charger, 2 headphone sockets and multiregion.

Couldn't better it on spec/price, even in the sales.

Remote control as well?? Blimey, do let us know what it's like, I may have to get me one of those, not sure why I need it, but it looks cool, multiregion is a killer bonus, still got plenty of R1 dvds.
