I'm about as excited as I would be at the prospect of a wet weekend in Scarborough.

There's no such thing, and I'm happy to say that unequivocally.

One day I may be made to look stupid, but if that happens I'll just look stupid and then buy one. No biggie.

I think my money's safe for a while yet though :D

This is still not confirmed but the rumour is growing in strength. The rumours first came out about six months ago on a small no. of boards, now it is
mainstream. see Dr Hans latest posting. h**p://drhans.jinak.cz/html/but.htm

A photo of the box has been posted along with the packing box and some
instructions on how to get Nov@ TV. Obviously as this is a broadcast system, you will need another lnb or at least a dual output one. I will PM
you the file if you want it. Oddly enuff, I cannot find anyone selling these
yet so I remain unconvinced either way. but the theory is sound.

Time will tell.

Well, anything with a bit of substance is always welcome and interesting. I'm quite happy to be proved wrong :).

Heaps of new stuff going on at the moment. The ART thing is great, and available on most platforms now (inc PCI cards). There's also something else big on the horizon too I think...

TPS back as well. :D

the provs will now make cards which send a CW every one second or less.
Then, internet CS will be finished.

Here are the instructions for black box....
note 'sesionenter face' prob. means season interface. I see no reason why
you need a Matrix Cam. This came from my usual key site; not the makers.

Note it mentions ART as well. soccer heaven, heh?!

It seems serial cable from Black Box fits to Seasons then into Cam/STB.
I don't know which bird the codes come from my guess is Europe on line.
Prolly encrypted too. Not sure. Rupert's people should be worried by this.

RECEIVER OPENING NOV@

dear members some things about this receiver
black box is satellite shairing system

1st conect serial cable with blackbox then conect the sesion interface
fix the matrix cam in ur receiver then enter the sesion interface card in

It looks like it isn't a hack, but a card sharing system and as such will disappear pretty regularly as the providers switch off the shared cards.

It also requires a separate dish pointing at Hotbird.

I have heard the prices ranginf from $350-$500. I have not seen the box yet but soon will be. One risk of buying the box is that the transponder that that they use can be shut down anytime. I have to say the subject of this box is sizzling in some forums but at the end who knows,

I'm sorry, I don't really get this. It's all packaged up to be something fantastic, but CW sharing by sat is all that's 'new' here, and that's already been explored by Tiger and one or two others IIRC.

'Blackbox' sounds great doesn't it? In fact it should be called 'cardboard box'!

As Rolf says, it looks like it would require a dedicated dish as well as a feed, and to stuff the data down the providers own throat is just gonna get nuked PDQ IMHO.

As I said, interesting, but for me, just interesting.
