That would tie the dish up, so you couldn't zap to a different satellite.
Well, yes, obviously..... "so that I can record a program on one transponder while watching one on another on the same satellite"

That would drive me crazy. On my Ultimo all four tuners are completely independent of one another.

:) It's a compromise. I have the T90 for regular watching, the other (smallish) dish on a motor is really just for playing.

I have seen a post from you saying BU LNB feedhorn Is optimised for low Ku band better then Andrew feedhorn
would you explain why Is that - Is there a specific scalar proportions
I like to know how scalar ring proportions - ring height and distance relate to reception In Ku band

Inverto ultra black single versus quad signal strength fringe reception astra 1N @28.2E bbc/itv from central southern norway, 100 cm tm dish, tm5204 hdci m2 stb, 5 meter brand new high quality copper braided coax.
Comparison done on the veranda thus could bypass the diseqc motor clear blue sky temp ~+20c, every position ( every 2 mm with skew test left center right ) tried on the long necks ( had hoped the extra longneck on the single would let me find the sweet spot on the dish ) spent 4 hours testing ( dish is mounted head height at the end of the veranda firmly anchored top and bottom ).

Conclusion :-

The quad had a slight edge over the single on all TPs ( 8 ) tested signal strengths on the quad were level 96/97 quality 88/92 the single were level 96/97 quality 85/92.

Also tested a wildcard LNB the Maximum v4 quad 0.2 Db on the same setup and TPs results were level 97 constant quality 90/95.

As you can guess I have left the maximum in place.

Hope this helps ppl with fringe reception.

Regards

Ps. Also tried all the TPs on astra 2F level 97 quality 8 so no lock.

My Satellite Setup
1.8 m CM at SMR 1224 + Elev. with 7 lnb changer Ku (lin - circ) - Ka (lin - circ) C (lin - circ)
My Location
Nijmegen Netherlands
Shop owner Ponny told that member Elchromo has very good results with that lnb , listed at satshop24 as a PLL (X-tal controlled lnb)
I ordered 2 to test , therefor i modified one to direct2fibo .
I noticed there were 2 adjustment screws at the body , normal for the common DRO lnb's , so i opent one and there are no X-tal in it .
At my test i could find some TP's were stronger and some weaker according to the BU , overall the same result .
If someone's interrest is on such better performing TP , than the BEST lnb is for you the winner .
I mentioned the lack of those X-tal at that forum , but Ponny did not react , so i wrote him a PM .
Without answering or comment , he changed the advertisment to very stable occilator

which freqs are stronger and which weaker according to BU - I guess you are talking about single lnb

I took not much attention to that lnb since it was not what it should be (X-tal PLL)
Compaired it quickly against my BU at Nilesat 7º W at a few TP's , at most TP's the same quality .
---------------BU---------BEST
-----------sign./qual.--sign./qual.
10.758 V 83/66 80/66
12.467 H 83/70 80/70
12.226 H 78/63 80/67
11.939 V 82/69 80/67
10727 H 77/25 sometimes a lock with the BEST no lock at all .

Keep in mind both lnb's are modified for use with a 120 cm Fibo Gregorian
The BU as Direct2Fibo and the BEST flanged

I was told that the quad is better than a single, just waiting for mine to be put up, my existing LNB is 8 yrs old so I should notice a difference ?!

Update

At last warm enough to tweak the dish.

Get fine weather lock on the uk psb ( freesat ) channels on astra 2E and 2F with no pixelation ( even had all the hd ) the maximum lnb still gives the best results when tested on 3 different stb boxes.

Might save up to invest in a larger dustbin lid:D
