A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

More and more cars these days have done away with roll bars and drop links - I was quite surprised when exchanging our previous Punto Grande for a new one that various bits seemed to be missing!

Tell me about it. I replaced the shock absorbers all round on the other half's Yaris a couple of years ago. I'm used to dampers sitting inside springs which would keep everything nice and secure but on the rear of her car there is nothing holding the springs between the subframe and suspension apart from two very shallow cups top and bottom.

If she ever goes off road in the thing.....

Not climate. Weather.

Exactly.

Mind you, the hillside at the edge of our village has been burning for ten days now.

Talking of burning off, three more Fire Engines and a hulking great Bowser came racing through the village two hours ago, as the hillside has burst into flames yet again.

Has the scorched earth method improved low horizon reception though ?

Isn't for many up here, the bin men have just been and I had to run out in my dressing gown down the road with my recycling bin, no doubt they will be on double time though, note to self must buy some slippers, barefoot in the UK is not the way to go:-wow:-wow

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!

No real problem even if the shock shears at one end (had that happen wiith my old Mk IV Golf estate) because the weight of the car will keep the spring in place (drove the Golf around with a broken shock for a couple of days until I could get a new one :D ). Anyway, just stick a jack under the spring cup to support/raise/lower it whilst replacing the shock or refitting an ARB etc (I have 5-6 small trolley jacks, and also a small bottle jack which is ideal as it fits neatly under the spring cup without getting in the way of anything else).

I find that slipping the dressing gown sleeves over the legs, keeping the toes just covered means you can go much faster in public. People get out the way quicker as well, a double whammy.

Bin day for us as well. It's green bin day for us which, perversely, is our non-recyclable bin. The recyclable stuff goes in the grey bin for next Monday,
