Georgia - do you have any access to old analogue kit - an old Sky receiver or something like that? Aligning a dish is MUCH easier with an analogue receiver, and they can be had cheaply these days.

unfortunately, no. might have a look round a couple of boot sales this weekend, since i think the weather is against me for the next few days anyway. everyone i knwo who had analogue sky ditched the boxes ages ago :(

update: going to swap the meter tomorrow i hope, and i'm picking up an analogue box from a mater tomorrow evening. he was clearing out the loft in a house he moved into yesterday and found one there, powered on, seems to work, even has the remote. *SWEET*

weather depending, i may be up and running this weekend. *bounces*
