Hello everybody,

I was just wondering from which dish size on 2 C-Band LNBs could be installed when the distance of the satellites is less than 3°.

78.5E-76.5E=2°
80E-78.5E=1.5°

I've seen photos from Russia where 3° (83E-80E) on 2.40m are no problem at all so could it be possible to achieve 1.5° on a 3m dish ?

If this is possible then imagine a fixed 3m which is focussed at 78.5E (in Eastern Europe and Northern Asia) and gets in Offset 64E-68.5E-76.5E and 80E-83E-90E just like this here: 3m Mesh Multifeed in Russia

you might just give it a whirl and see what happens. i wonder if the signal strenght is strong and you use a huge dish whether the lnbs can be slightly off the focal point, like higher and lower in order to get the distance between them down to less than their physical size would allow. probably the easiest is to modify the lnb casing so they can fit closely together.

Thanks for your answer. Since i cannot try it here that's why i asked in the hope that any member of this forum here has done it before. Here in Stuttgart it might be very hard to achieve this because of the low elevation 4-6° of all the 3 satellites.

Suppose i gotta ask in russian fora where C-Band is usual and the elevation much higher.
