Interesting article in the latest Tele-satellite magazine on using a dish of less than 1m. to pull in C-Band reception from various satellites, e.g. Intelsat, Express, Atlanticbird etc.
It's a mesh (!) prime focus dish from China (SVEC) fitted with a 17K LNB/Feed+servo polariser, which doesn't appear to shadow the reflector too much.
Could give us K-Band enthusiasts an extra interest!

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Bigger is better, but if you are on a budget then a few additional satellite channels is always worthwhile.

Problem is most of whats up there is also duplicated in Ku band

It's just the DXing aspect I was thinking of CH - getting the most with the least, I suppose, although "least" in this case doesn't take into account the price of a C-Band LNBF/servo polariser.

As for duplication of channels, I don't suppose I watch anything for more than a couple of minutes anyway when I'm feedhunting.

There's quite a lot of stuff in English (subtitled US films) on analogue C-Band on Arabsat 26E.

Wow, the authorities aren't too fussy about dish sizes where you are then, Apogee!
What's the westernmost sat you can receive?

If any one would like an overview of what can be received in the UK on C Band with a 1.8 mtr or 2.0 Mtr precision dish equipped with professional ADI feed and PLL lnb, then pm to me and i will provide a list.

Equally for those real Dx ers then I can also help provide a list from a 3.8mtr at my home in Beligum.

At this level the choice becomes much more interesting.
