Hi everyone,
just rented a flat. The owner wouldn't allow me to install a permenant dish. So, I'm considering installing a dish in the balcony. The balcony is facing the canal. So, please have a look at the map and tell me weather a dish in this balcony can get hotbird signal or not.

Welcome to the Forum.

As you're adept with Google Maps, try Dishpointer which is a Satellite Tool based on Google Maps.

It'll give you Line of Sight (Including possible obstructions!) for any Satellite of interest and will give you Azimuth, Elevation and Skew figures for a Dish.

In Lancaster, you might get away with something as discreet as a BSkyB style Zone 1 dish, or you might care to get a conventional 60cm dish.
