can dm 800/8000 dreamboxes play HDTV content from file?

Hi,
Does anyone know, can the new HDTV dreamboxes play HDTV content from file? I mean from USB flash, network share etc. With new powerful CPU's designed to encode mpeg4, x264, 720p/1080p compressed streams, this shouldn't be a problem.
For instance I can watch DIVx movies from my PC with my DM600 with VLC frontend plugin, or directly from file menu when movies are converted to .ts MPEG2 stream.
Can DM800/8000 open and play MPEG4 from MKV or AVI containers?

No idea, as the new models haven't been on the market yet.
We might be wiser in few months.

Hi,

This would be a great idea. Even more, with SRT subtitles support.
Anyone tried this already?
