Can I use a USA based satellite dish

Hi Folks, new to this and know nothing about satellites other than you switch the tv on.2
Basically, I've just imported and american Motorhome and in the deal was a satellite dish, apparently its automatic and a dome type.
I just boasted to a mate about my purchase, and he said it wouldnt work because its got the wrong LNB and it'll still try to find US satellites rather than UK ones.

Can anyone help with this please, if I need to change stuff, then what stuff do I need to get, and where from ?

Some of the American satellites use what is known as L&R circular polarisation (Left & Right). European satellites use H&V polarisation (Horizontal & Vertical).

You need to find out what the lnb on the dish is inside that dome and how to change it if its the wrong type.

If its an auto tracjking dish which sets itself up aurtomatically then it should be able to get the European sats although it may need some adjustments or settings changed.

Whilst I dont like suggesting other forums in this ultra specialised situation you may be better off finding an owners forum for your make of camper van. If you find asn answer elsewhere please come back and let us knowe what the result was.

thanks for that, its not actually on the rv, as the agent just bought to the specs i requested, i was working on half info, until you helped me out.
