can not get channel 5 or ITV london

Cansomeone help can not get the above channels tried avery thing turned the mains off over night did the backup methed all other channel work ok on sky tv
you can see the programme list on the channels but no picture

Is channel 103 and 105 there?
If not phone sky tell them the problem they will send a signal out tou your box. Make sure you have you card/digibox number to hand.

I presume you have just got sky installed.

I spoke to sky but they do not know what the problem can be.
it my mate box that has the problem he has the problem for about 7 months anyone know why theys channel do not come up when others work fine.

I presume that your friend is not in the UK, or he'd have phoned Sky himself. Are they the only two channels he can't get and does he have a subscription or a BBC free to view card.

My mate is in the u.k in Buckinghamshire. he knows someone who lives on the other side of the road he can get both channels. programme listing show on both channels but no picture?

If you look at the frequency to set for the ITV channels and then go to Services/ System setup/ 01 Select/ Manual tuning/ Type in the required frequency and other settings , this will give you a signal and quality test specific to that transponder. This then may give a clue as to why the reception is not there.

please confirm whether your friend has an FTV card (i.e. only for BBC/etc - the "free" channels) or a subscription card (i.e. with pay-channels such as Sky-One).

Channel-5 tranmsits on tranponder 11758/H/27500 fec 2/3
So you can try setting that up as an "other channel" and see if it comes through that way (services>system setup>add channels).

On that same transponder there are also some other channels. Can your friend get any of these (if indeed he is even supposed to be able to, given his card/subscription)? -
- PCNE
- Sky Sports1/2/3
I think PCNE is non-subscription but only transmits between 19:00-03:00.

Regarding your statement that the problems started 7 months ago - note that ITV has in any case only been available for a week or so, and so NO-ONE had been able to get that particular channel through 103 for the past seven months! But channel-5 should have been available on 105 in that period.

One more thing - does the channel simply display a blank screen, or does it actually display a blue box with some kind of error message (e.g. suggesting the subscription should be updated, or the card authorised)? If so, what exactly is the message?
