Which footprint are you referring to when you say it suggests a 1.8 m?

According to the footprints, Thor 2 has +36 dB on the entire island while Thor 3 scrapes the north of the island with 44 dB.

I don't know the dish size for Corsica, but in case you or anyone else is interested, I can tell you that Thor 2 can be received in Iceland with a 1 m dish (EIRP according to footprint: +44 d:cool:, while Thor 3 can be received barely with a 3 m (EIRP: not sure), that's only the horizontal transponders though (for vertical further boost of 3 dB likely required).

Corsica is in the middle of the two contours, whilst Sardinia is really only just receiving the lower grade signals

I would expect approximately 40dB from Northern Corsica based on the official Thor 2 footprints, but still open for the difinitive answer

Thanks for that link.
As its available in Sardinia with a 1.2m, then its possible in Corsica.

Just a remark: The Thor 2 footprint on its edge is too pessimistic. Even in Athens you can get it with a 2.40m PFA almost all day all frequencies. So a much smaller dish might suffice in Corse/Sardegna. Sirius 3 is another case, much weaker..

Be aware that next year Thor 2R will replace Thor 2, same Sirius 4 as replacement for Sirius 2+3. What their coverage will be, who knows ?
