Need help please. I can't work out what's wrong. At the moment out of the 3 images I have on my usb stick (PLI Diamond, DaVinci 5.4 final) Gemini 2.70 is the only image that allows me to download cams/plugins. The other 2 images freeze, get stuck, when I try this.. (it's only now for the last 2 weeks this is happening)

All 3 images work fine with flashwizard 6.3 and DCC 2.7 I also did the pinging test in the Klona guide, and everything checked out ok.. The info when pinged matched the Klona info..

I'm sure it's something small.. As Gemini works 100%.. Can anyone advise please.. ps Had PLI Diamond in flash, but last night reinstalled CVS from 3.12.2005 I was hoping this might make a difference, but it didn't.

DCG, thanks for getting back... Do you mean the nameserver on the image? By going to the expert setup and communication setup menu?

The setup I have is IP: 192.168.0.24
DHCP: (unticked)
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Type: LAN
Nameserver: 192.168.0.1
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Enaable network: (ticked)
Port 80

I'm using a dial-up setup for internet. And have both dialup and LAN settings set to "automatically detect settings" on internet properties, using Windows XP

The communications settings on each image is the same DCG, as it's copied from the flash. And as I wrote Gemini 2.70 works fine. If it's something I'm overlooking, please let me know. Really miss being able to fool about with the other images since it happened...

What baffles me, is that Gemini 2.70 is the only one working on usb... Surely some brains out there could come up with a solution...

My Satellite Setup
Dreambox 7020
80cm dish + MTI 0.2db LNB + Technomate HH100
My Location
UK
If the settings for gemini work, then it can only be the network configuration for your other images.
Another way to confirm this is to telnet into your dreambox and run
ifconfig eth 0
(will display IP and netmask for ethernet)

cat /etc/resolv.conf
(Will bring up the nameserver entry)

and finally
route -n
(displays the gateway)

The configuration for the ethernet card is also stored at /etc/network/interfaces (on gemini)

cat /etc/network/interfaces

Example:
# Ethernet
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.254.24
broadcast 192.168.254.255
gateway 192.168.254.254
netmask 255.255.255.0

Im using a 7020 so I vannot guarantee all commands will work, but the problem IS just configuration.
On your other images if you can telnet into the DB, then lan is working check the gateway and nameserver settings

Thanks for all that.. Great to have so much info to play about with.. Must admit, I know very little about telnet, as I've mainly relied on ftp using versions of DCC... But thanks again for all that information... And I'll certainly give it a go...

After I wrote this, hal8000, I installed the PLI image that came before Diamond, and this worked 100%, after I played about with it and got it working from just the download section... But Diamond even after a 2nd try last night, still froze... Haven't gone back to try Davinci 5.4

What baffles me, is that all settings are copied from the flash image, and on checking them, seem to be OK? I'll telnet anyway, and see what the results say.

thanks again for the info
