O-Ha Insanity looming! O-Ha
I’m just about ready to say sod it to a motorised set up unless you guys can tell me where I’m going wrong.
I started about 3 weeks ago and very quickly managed to get half a dozen birds from Thor1W to Astra 28E but nothing west. My motor was mounted on a double 90^ cranked mount (sort of "S" shape) and I figured that the weight of the motor and dish must have pulled the mount off vertical, so I swung the whole lot through 180^ and reset vertical but only found Thor 1W and Hotbird 13E. After a lot of fiddling about I abandoned the cranked mount and replaced it with a straight pole.
Now I cant find Thor, my true south bird, pointing just E of S my SLx sat meter goes off the scale, but the meter on the TV only shows a level 76% quality 0% and no matter where I point the dish in that general direction can I get a better signal.
In setting up the motor I have used both USALS and Disqec 1.2 and before each change I have cleared down all the scanned sat channels.
I have read a lot of the threads but the more I read and change the worse things seem to be getting, hence ready to quit.
Does the STB retain it previous setting if yes what should I do?
Will putting a damp cloth over the LNB reduce its sensitivity and stop the sat meter going off scale?
Apoligies for going on but please help.
