My Satellite Setup
Technomate 1500ci super,60cm motorised dish, MTI High Line 0.2db Single Digital LNB self built PC

Hi All

I was going to try and install my system myself, but lack of tools, ladders and bad health will force me to seek help.

Problem is,most installers won't do motorised,so if I get my motorised dish all set up by my installer to say Hotbird,as a static install, and then put some power to the motor, will the Technomate receiver find the other satellites.

Thanks

Alan

No, im afraid it is not as simple as that. Chanes of the dish tracking the arc are slim.

No, this may not work as you can adjust the dish to suit just Hotbird.

With a motorised set-up the mount has to be perfectly vertical and true South set then you reference satellite etc.

If the mount is not exact (which it doesn't have to be for a dish pointing at Hotbird) then the other set-up will fail.

Maybe some member in your area will help you?

Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies,I guess I was clutching at straws really, but it would have been helpful had it worked.

I have contacted 2 installers via phone message and email, and neither has bothered to reply.

Thanks again

Alan

We do have some members in Lancashire Alan and I'm sure that one of them will either be able to help, or at the very least, be able to give you the name of an installer. It may take a few days though. :)

Well Lancashire is one of the largest counties if not the largest county in England and it takes approximately one hour to travel from north to south using the M6 motorway sticking to the speed limit so which part of Lancashire are you refering to asimmd???

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...
My Location
Near Pontop Pike, Co. Durham
I live near the border between Yorkshire and lancashire, it's one weird area... O-Ha

Have to say, I'm sort of in the same boat as asimmd, lack of ladders and tools, but despite a bad back I'd be up for installing dishes!!!! :D
I just can't without tools and ladders.... :(
