Is it likely that when the TPS encryption changes as has been inferred on here, that absolutely everything will be lost or is it likely that some of the channels (TF1, M6 for example) will remain open? Or don't we know yet?

Ahem, not being pedantic, but those channels have always been free (if you know where to look ).

No, I realise that, but that would mean another dish or constantly swinging this one round and back again. That's why I asked :)

No one can be sure about these things but I am sure I read on an other board,
somewhere it was to be 13 Aug but we will just have too wait and see.

Maybe, although surely their entire marketing/anti-piracy strategy is not based on the small numbers (in relative terms) of people watching UK football over here, as opposed to what must be infinitly more French types getting their native pay-tv for free. I would have thought they will change the encryption as soon as they are able to, not time it just to p!ss us Brits off. (Then again, suppose you never know with our gallic cousins :) )

Wouldn't TPS have to send out a load of new cards to their official subscribers first? Or have they already done that.

Or on the other hand, is there no need to do that?

All the TPS channels are available at present in both via2 and via1/TPScrypt. Some are still in plain via1.

TPS are changing TPScrypt AES codes daily whereas the via2 code hasn't been changed for many months.

Perhaps with luck the change in encryption will affect via2 only leaving the channels still obtainable with TPScrypt.

It is OK just now but the speculation is for how long.

Only the providers know the answer to that one and I don't think they'll share it!
