SM :)

my 104 is looking at 10714 - and it is experiencing breakup (i am not in the uk!) at exactly the same time as the ITVs that were here a few weeks ago.

Makes sense A/S :D

I am right of course you could ATM still add channels through dodgybox on 12.168 to get 'C4L Test 1', no ?

I know I'm late for this thread(was distracted by other threads) but just wanted to add to this ch4 saga. I have a customer with a 3m dish who could not get the ITV which was the strongest signal for us from 2D(because her apartment is next door to a telephone exchange with a big tower full of transmitters and repeaters for mobile phones etc which is cancelling out 10.714H)and had to settle for Central S(10.832H) which would break up in the evening. Then a few weeks ago 12.402V opened up and she could receive ITV Meridian etc and she was happy. She was also a ch4 fan and she was one of the few who could receive it without interference(from Arabsat). Today I got a phone call"ch4's says no signal". Off course, now it's gone to 10.714v she can't get the signal.
Ps ch4+1 is weak in the evening .
Talk about bad luck.

That is bad luck Zorba. Out of interest, how come ch4+1 is weak in the evening as it's the same beam & polar as 12168 (ch 4 old slot). Could it be attenuation as it's higher up the spectrum

Trigger - there HAS to be a story behind that crumpled dish in your avatar - we need to hear it!

@ Satelliteman
We seem to be getting interference from arabsat. They opened up some new frequencies which are the same as some "sky" frequencies and as we are in the middle of their fotprint they mess "ours" up. 12.168,12148 and 12480. Channels affected- old ch4,hallmark,sky sports news/extra,sci-fi,eurosport sky two/three mainly.
Sometimes a bit of manipulation of the dish cures some channels but might affect reception of 2D.

Hi Mate
maybe because you are further north you are out of the beam( or your dish is bent, which helps in this case:))

Of course, I did read the fact that you get crosstalk between the two satellites on those freqs somewhere on another thread. Cheers, clears that up.

I heard some regions got crosstalk with bbc news 24,which is a good signal for us.
Anybody got problems elsewhere ?

Looks like a 2.4m Famaval with the extensions to make it 3.1m. I would have guessed strong winds if it were just the panels, but the dish itself looks bent.Maybe the actuator broke and the dish hit the ground ?

Very good.

It was actually caused by a wooden roof section trying to "mount" the dish in some high winds we had a couple of years back. It was a polar mount and the force actually bent the mount as well. Only things saved were 4 petals and the base. There was no motor on it and was held by a steel bar. I´ll open another thread with some more pictures.
