Suns out tools out!

Drilled a load of holes, got some threaded rod and chemically (resin) set them in to the concrete bases.
Fitted a nut and washer either side so I can adjust for absolute plumbness.

Is that the two concrete fence posts, did they get painted, they look a kind of brown colour in that photo.

It's 2 concrete fence posts that I nearly threw away when I took them down :)
They are VERY heavy and full of rebar, good job I kept them. Cut them to the size I wanted with a diamond disc on a grinder.

They were brown before, but don't actually mind that colour as they don't seem to stand out much on the ground.

They two fence posts have become a great freecycle mate, glad you said how you cut them because I was going to ask that! lol

Not updated this for a while as I've been having so much fun with this, the dish has been up a few days.
Signals are approx 2-3dB or higher than my gibby 1m. Which is helping me quite a bit on weaker transponders.

Ended up using 4 core 0.75mm Mains flex, was really cheap from the wholesalers and really nice stuff, was rather OCD about the wiring to the VBOX so sleeved it, tinned the ends and colour coded the wires.

Things left to do... Paint the dish, fit a IBU Twin and run some more coax (That's why the actuator wire isn't on the pole) And I might even get a 1.5m Pole to give me a bit more than 46E

Restored Polar Mount, new bearings, all bolts INOX (Stainless)
New "SuperJack" Actuator, I covered this in Lidl Cavity protection spray, it's waxy stuff you use on a car chassis.
20180510_184154.jpg

Restored LNB arms with Lidl Alloy Wheel Paint, I think they came out very well!
20180510_184802.jpg

Mount from RimaNTSS, I drilled the concrete and chemically set the bolts, there are 2 nuts and 2 washers to each bolt to help level everything.
Bought a Galv 3" pole from a local sign company for £10, seems it's a standard item used for signs so quite easy to get hold of.

20180510_184210.jpg

Bit of random pipe I had, just to stop me stepping on the wires!
20180510_184202.jpg

Tinned and sleeved cable to VBOX-II

20180503_112450.jpg

New editions, Mutant HD51, VBOX II (Thanks @Captain Jack for the VBOX II) I stripped it down and painted it Black with Lidl Matte Black spray paint,
Also bought a Edision Primo IP S2

Oh like side to side
Not like the motorised the does the arc as well
Yes, basically side to side. A polar mount is also needed to track the arc, the actuator then moves the dish to what ever orbital position is required.

Decided to paint the LNB arms, seems Lidl "Rim Paint" is a perfect match, I did try Aldi Direct to metal Silver Gloss (Non Metalic) but doesn't look as good.

Lidl "Rim Paint" Left - Aldi Metal Paint Right.

Lidl have some "colour lacqer" on sale today for £2.99 is this similar / the same as the "rim paint"?
