Can anyone help with some information on the Hispasat satellites 'O'-red .
I can already receive some of the Free-to-Air channels with a second-hand Sky Digital setup. However, since Canal+ has just moved in, I have lost the main channel of interest, which was Antena 3.
I want to be able to receive the main Spanish channels from Hispasat, namely TVE 1, TVE 2, Antena 3, Tele 5, etc, as well as the free-to-air channels.
I originally thought that a Technomate TM5000CI with a Nagravision CAM would do the trick, but I have just noticed that these channels are encrypted in PowerVu - which I have never heard of, and which a chap at Myers didn't know of either.
Is PowerVu an embedded CAM? If not, does anyone know where a CAM may be obtained. Also, would a card be required, along the lines of the Solus card?

The Antenna 3 channel has not worked since the change and I'm not sure whether it will re-appear.

Powervu requires a special receiver/decoder and cannot be received consistently with anything else.

Where did you read that the spanish channels on hispasat are coded in PowerVU???

For the time being they are all still coded in Nagra.

Thanx guys. Most of the channels on Hispasat are indeed in Nagra, but both Lyngsat and Satcodx put the channels I mentioned on PowerVu -as I said, I have never heard of it - can anyone out there receive these channels - they are on 12.671 V SR:28120 FEC:5/6 - and can you let me know what kind of equipment you are using?

TVE1, TVE2...etc are not part of the Digital+ package on hispasat.

They are encrypted in PowerVu and always have been.

To see this channels you must be in spain and get your self an aerial antena.

You can see A3NOTICIAS in 11731 V 3/4 27500 Nagravision but not Antena3...for now.

To answer the question about PowerVU: PowerVU is mainly used in USA and needs a special dedicated receiver, for sale for the nice price of.....~2000GBP :) If you are lucky you can find one on EBay, but the receiver must also be activated by the provider.
There is not much on the net about this, but one site with-a litle-info you can find here: http://www.growl.de/d9234.html

Thanks marcoh64 - it sounds to me as if the PowerVu system is really only intended for re-broadcasters -perhaps for supplying an entire building with channels without the need for multiple aerials? - who knows - anyway, at those kind of prices, and with the kind of restrictions you mention, I think I will have to satisfy myself with the FTA channels, and hope that Antena 3 makes a return soon. - thanks to all for their help with this - it has made a real difference being able to pick other peoples brains instead of relying on my own - Muchas Gracias.
