To use the system for digital, you will need to get a twin LNB, so that you can feed a digital receiver at the same time. The D2Mac unit is obsolete, but the 1.2 metre dish and actuator is useful and quite expensive to buy new. The cables may or may not be of any use, but are relatively inexpensive to purchase anyway.

I have a Monterey 40 (fine piece of analogue equipment) sat doing nothing and a 1 metre dish with echostar actuator, but if you're buying the system to use as a positioner, it's probably not good value.

Depends on the bands the LNB work on

No reason to change it if the Local Oscillators are 9750 and 10750 MHz

Use the Chaparral to move the dish and adjust the polarisation (only if its a mechanical polariser) and slave the digital box via a seconf isolated port on a two way splitter

We have a Monterey in the office Ive been trying to flog for months (£70 with UHF remote and it still wont go). Not my favourite at all

If you're going for the 5400 Humax, then you shouldn't need a separate positioner.

Sorry, didn't realise you already had the motor, just get a diseqC to four wire converter, there's a thread concerning this particular combination.

Channel Hopper is the boy to speak to on the question of suitable LNB for that dish, he does a lot more of that type of work than I do, but I would say that MTI do a very good C120 flange LNB, which is designed for prime focus dishes.

Dear Mr Chips

You havent said what is on the front of the dish as yet

It may be you dont have to change it anyway

I do sell C120 LNBs for a good price but Im not allowed to promote whilst on the forum. Again without knowing what fitting (polariser and feed )are on the dish its impossible to say if it will fit

burntchips it is my opion that £350 is rather excpensive for what is an anologue system. given you still have to buy a digital box (another £350) then I would recommend you looking around a bit more ie £150 for anologue box with positioner and dish.Try one of your local adds only papers ie adtrader ?
