The 4 cooling towers at Chapelcross nuke power station were demolished this morning. Visible for dozens of miles along the Solway Firth the landmarks were blown up as part of the station decommissioning process.

Well, they don't actually keep the reactors and radioactive material within the towers, they're used for cooling the steam that is used to generate power back into water (as far as I know of course, I'm no nucular tecknishun!!! :D )...;)
