7 weeks to Christmas so its time to think about the annual end of year forum fun.
Yes its only mid November but some folks might want to set some extra kit up and with the short days might need a dryish weekend to set up.
(And anyway its only a matter of time until someone asks about it!)
If you havent seen the annual lunacy before basically it works like this - we start with midnight in Auckland at lunchtime uk time (using the coverage from one of the fta news channels) and work steadily westwards around the globe hour by hour seeing what sort of ceremonies and fireworks we can find in assorted countries. We have a few drinks, a bit of banter on the forum, and just generally have a bit of a laugh and enjoy the various ceremonies.. Its all very light hearted, and folks dip in and out during the day.
If you havent joined in before most of the channels we use are on Hotbird 13E. Most of the channels we get reports on are fta so anyone can watch, although folks sometimes kindly provide info about whats happening on a few of the encrypted channels.
Ive got a dish on 53E this years so if the weather isnt too evil I will be having a look at what is happening in Uzebekistan in the 1900 "dead hour" where not a lot happens elsewhere. I also plan to see what if anything happens in Kyrgyzstan via ELTR on 46E this year - assuming they stay on air long enough to reach their local midnight
Temporarily made a sticky so its easy to find
Ive closed the thread and will reopen it towards the middle of December for further discussion
Same procedure as last year? ;) (If you dont understand this reference you haven't played along with us before)
