Clock chimes

Hi, ive just bought an old clock that chimes every 15 minutes but the chimes are out of sync at 6 o clock it chimed 11 so 7 o clock its going to chime 12 how do I put the chimes back in sync any ideas please.

You have to move the hour hand without the mechanism moving.

Usually there's enough stiction to allowyou to rotate the needle while the shaft is held in place by the gear mechanism. In an extreme case you may need to pull the needle off the shaft and then push it backon in the right position.
