Tea for me first thing, and in the afternoon. Twinings preferred. Coffee mid-morning and last thing at night, espresso or cappuccino from an my ancient Morphy-Richards 'Mister Cappuccino' coffee maker. Tried other makes, Delonghi etc., but sold them on, no match for the M-R.

Coffee was rare for us when I was younger. First time I tasted it was in a visit to hospital. Before that, had to make do with an ersatz pretend coffee called Camp -

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Tea in the morning before leaving for work, Yorkshire Tea, made strong, 1 sugar, Nescafe Gold Blend after work, couple of cups, Real coffee on my days off currently Jacobs coffee, I'll either make a cappuccino or latte, I have syrups for the latter.
Yorkshire for us - most of the day! - I buy the 1-cup teabags "in bulk" from MAKRO (currently about 1/4 way through a bag of 1200 - and there are 2 more bags in the attic!)

OTOH, I do like a cup of fairly strong coffee from my Delonghi ground-coffee maker when "things get difficult".

Not really - I probably drink the equivalent of at least 10 mugs of tea & coffee a day - I start the day with a jumbo sized mug of tea with my breakfast - then a normal sized mug of coffee or tea when I get to work - thats the equivalent of 3 mugs before 9am!

It'd be tea for me, I keep trying with coffee, but after a while I get sick of the other end effects it has on me, fresh or instant...

Up for work, kettle on for tea, here's the coffee shop ingredients without the £5 price tag for a latte:IMG_20180424_040956_zpspng5haye.jpgIMG_20180424_041408_zpsf5lpccus.jpg

:lol::lol::lol:

Something nicer from that era was the free orange juice we were given weekly at the new NHS clinics growing up in the post-war years. I recall it even now - seemed to taste much better than some of the juices you get these days. But then it probably would - it was given after the requisite dollop of cod liver oil

Don't think I've ever sampled it, but was surprised to see it's still made; the brand now belonging to McCormick the spice people

Yes, you can usually find it in the cookery aisles of some supermarkets, for adding a coffee-ish flavour to cakes etc.

I used to drink a lot of coffee 10 years ago something like 8 large cups a day, and one day I felt dizzy and went to see a doctor and I had high blood pressure.
Started taking medication ever since but that day was so traumatic I stopped drinking coffee perhaps two cups only during 10 years!!!
I like Twining tea and I order Earl Grey and special herbal tea bags from the USA!!!
In total 5 cups of tea during the day and night.

Tea has similar amounts of caffeine as Coffee: Tea Leaves actually have more than Coffee Beans do.

But the brewing and dilution processes alter the equation to some extent.

One brand of capsule I'd avoid is 'Cru Kafe'. I bought some following a great write up in one of the broadsheets. It's one of the weakest, watery, bitter coffees I've ever tasted.
Please report back if you do find the Lidl ones, I was expecting them to be rubbish but was blown away. They are £1.70 a box in the UK so shouldn't be far off that where you are.

Tsk. Here in Yorkshire we know the Tea is ready when a spoon can stand up in it.

Well that's certainly cheaper than buying them direct from Nespresso. We're away for three weeks on Sunday, so I'll try and give them a go when we get back. Our local supermarket stocks a 'Starbuck' capsule which is pretty good and I'm trying some of these, which smell great when poured out but taste disappointing...
