A pond, with plenty (2000 at the last count) of wriggling tadpoles. I should really start naming them, but they could grow into almost anything amphibian.

Im happy and so I believe should my wife, she will tell me when shes not (but then I suffer from being conveniently deaf ).

Dear Soapysoap

Thanks (and the rest of you ) for the replies

What does this part I need to take off look like, and what size spanner

If you know the SD boilers where would it be (left, right, near the pump or part of the pump ?)

I can remove the power to the system so shocks are not an issue

If you have any bit left once you have taken your old spare boiler to pieces, then I would be interested in the assemble which fits immediately behind the thermostat guage, which has the copper pipe from the heat exchanger going into it.

Hi fnick

You get todays award for dredging up the archives. This thread started over 2 years ago, Ive still got the same boiler, and its got the same issues, havent (quite) got round to the repair as yet, and even in the cold snap last week the boiler performed well - apart from the need to place a bucket under it - so I may or may not consider playing around with the valves later this month.

But it still works, and I would be more bothered if the boiler didnt work at all after my 'repair'.

I wish I had as much spare time as some on here....
