compressed video downnloads

have started using kazaa to download music and video but on playback using windows media player(V9) only sound tracks are playing no video. Do you need a program to run compressed video i have been told that this is needed. If so where can it be downloaded from

it's a minefield of a problem. namely u have lots of decoder to view a certain way of encoding. you can start by looking for interWin dvd player, it copes with most divx encoding. search google for interwin dvd player (or even in kazaa, someone must have it). then you might have to download seperate decoder like divx ver 3, ver 4, ac3 filter etc. win media 9 is not very good.

just get teh latest divx player and an AC3 codec. that chousl sort ya out. if that fails search the nt for NIMO CODEC PACK and get that
