Guys,

I have a dreambox in a room into which it is not so easy to run an ethernet cable, so I am thinking about connecting it to my network via wlan. I guess I have 2 options ...

1 - go from the ethernet port of box into a wireless bridge ... (or is it access point?)

2 - use a USB WLAN 'dongle' in the USB port of the box

I would certainly prefer option 2, as it would be cheaper, and would not require a seperate power supply. Has anyone done this ?

Or any other ideas?

cheers ... Wally

Yes, it's been done but you can only use certain types of adaptors. The darkstar image from nabilo has the drivers preloaded. I'm sure if you can find an adaptor which has linux drivers for your platform, it can be done with other brands as well

Another option is to use a pair of Comtrend Poweline adaptors see pdf file attached. Usually about £40 on ebay
