I have recently got a freesat/sky dish, sat finder, pc tuner card ETC

I have found the best reception i can so far with the sat finder and set my tv tuner software to "Astra 2a 2b and 2d" satalite and scanned.

But i receieve a large list of foriegn channels - mainly french and german ... Simpsons dosent look as good in subbed german.

Any ideas why i am unable to recieve uk channels? Im a bit stummped so far

Search parameters are here scan.jpg

Any one see anything wrong?

Thanks in advance

You will be on the wrong satellite, probably Astra 19.2, you need to move the dish 9 degrees east and down a couple of degrees.

Those Channels are from Astra 1 at 19E, so your dish is aligned to the wrong Satellite.

9 deg further East and a tad down in elevation.

A "Satellite" is just a table of data relating to frequencies etc and similar data is re-used across all the main SAtellite positions so scanning "Satellite A" only does the right thing if the dish is pointed to "Satellite A". If the dish is pointed to "Satellite B" then when you scan "Satellite A" you'll still get some results appearing, but they can only be Channels from "SAtellite B".
