I have a Linksys Wireless Router WRT54GS connected to my PC (with cable) and internet and I'm using it for more than a year with no problem, recently I got a Dreambox 500 s and I connected it with a cat 5 cable to Router and set it up as it was in Idiot guide and other topics in forum.

Problem is I can see Dreambox in IE but I can't connect it to the internet.

Here is My Dreambox setup:
IP: 192.168.1.128
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Nameserver: 192.168.1.1
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Enable Network: checked
DHCP: unchecked

I searched all the forum to find a solution, but there was no luck.

Any advise?
Thanks

Well, the setup looks fine mate

I don´t have the 500 but I think there is an option for finding the mac adress ? Find that button and save.

What are the details of your router ip etc?

You should be able to see what is connected to your router in the admin panel, showing MAC address etc, you may need to give it (the Dreambox) permission.

And set this:

Nameserver: 192.168.1.1

to the DNS Server IP of your ISPs DNS server.

Is your router using DHCP and trying to assign the Dreambox an IP address?
Have you set up the router for fixed IP addresses and added your Dreambox IP as a trusted computer? If it's using DHCP you'll need to set the IP range/ subnet mask to be the same range as the Dreambox.

Thanks for your reply.

Here is Router setting:
Local IP Address: 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP Server: Enabled
Start IP Address: 192.168.1.100
Max DHCP Clients: 50
Access Restrictions: Disable

I tried both Firewall Enabled and Disabled with no luck.

DHCP Server: Enabled

Try enabling DHCP on the Dreambox and see what happens.

I tried both putting ISP's DNS to Nameserver and enabling DHCP on Dreambox.
Still doesn't connect to internet!

you want to connect from the internet side to your DM? Easy; port forward an external port to 192.168.1.128

If you want to stream, you'll need more ports.

I assume you have a dynamic DNS address for your internet IP?
