I don't know if this is the right section to post this question, but does anybody know what this is and how to receive it?

That one was noted a few days ago. Its some sort of continuous stream format & hobby gear wont touch it. Even with pci cards analysing it the lads just got part of an image then smears all over it.

If you are hopimg to watch Dutch TV via it, forget it!

Maybe in a couple of years, just like we saw with multistream! ;-)

My question Remains why they broadcast those channels via Satellite! The netherlands are, just like Belgium, so small that they almost always use fibre to feed their DVB-T transmitters, so I am wondering why they are now boradcasted by satellite distribution! And why only these two channels!

Maybe they're expecting the rats might take a fancy to the fibre links.

Maybe for Dutch container ships, vessels? for Dutch ship and boat owners and for Dutch shipping industry?

There's more than just 2 channels on there too, as well as RTL 4 & NPO 1, I've managed to make out an RTL 5 & Discovery logo, and possibly a couple more that I can't quite make out. All appear to be on the same VPID.

I wonder if it could be a cross-Atlantic feed for the Netherlands Antilles? (Sint Maarten, Aruba, etc).

Although it looks like it's on the European beam rather than that Atlantic one so maybe not!

You just enter the freq, sr/fec and multi 0 as you would with any other multistream channel, and it scans in an unnamed service, which then gives the garbled screen images shown here. Although I used to use the TBS5925 and it's not very good with these type of streams. I'm now using the 6903 which seems to make a little more sense of these streams.

Just a quick update, although this package left 37.5W a few months ago, it seems to have reappeared on SES 6 @ 40.5W, 11137V 30000 3/4. Same problems trying to receive it though! So far managed to make out NPO 1, Ziggo Sport Select, Disney XD, and also a couple of others that I can't identify yet!

Very strange. It won't be for the Antillies since they already get a fibre feed of the public channels. And as for things like offshore platforms there are already two satellite providers (Canaal and Joyne) that have good European coverage. There are some small cable providers dotted around the country. Maybe that's what it's for but you would have thought they wouldn't need satellite for distribution.

Interesting! I didn't know that the Netherlands Antilles actually got European Dutch TV at all.

When I was in Sint Maarten a couple of years ago, I scanned the DVB-T and there you just get BVN as the Dutch language option (along with some encrypted pay channels, ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC HD Miami versions unencrypted, a bad 60Hz conversion of Guadeloupe La 1ère, and France 2-5/Guadeloupe La 1ère in European standard 50Hz from the French part of the island), but looking at the website for FLOW (cable provider) in Curaçao, sure enough there's NPO1, NPO2 and NPO3 in HD, with timeshift versions also available!

This gets there by fibre then? I know the French use Intelsat 35e to get France Télévisions to the Caribbean, bizarrely including the local La 1ère channels, which I think are actually linked back from the local studios to Paris by fibre and then played out and transmitted from there over the satellite link! France 2-5 get timeshifted by 5 hours so that programmes go out at the same time.

The French satellite link also includes France Inter for French Antilles FM transmitters, and contains the RDS data (identical to on 5°W) which gets transmitted.

Interesting!
This is such a mystery. I've had a root around Dutch websites like Sat4All and haven't found many people talking about it. Nobody seems to know what it's for.
That said, having lived in the Netherlands cable outages were quite frequent so it could be a new type of backup.

11137 V is on East Atlantic beam.
My guess it is for in-flight entertainment.

Possible, but KLM is the only major carrier and they don’t offer live TV on their flights.

I suppose it could be military but Joyne has used the fact that the military are customers in their promotional material. Seems a bit strange to have them on another satellite when there’s already two with wide coverage.

Not sure myself who they're for, but they're definitely there! Managed to grab a couple of screenshots with logos, although largely a garbled mess as you'd expect with these types of streams!
