Corfu - Which dish & LNB

I've just set up my system after moving to Corfu. I brought over a Fortec prime focus "petalised" dish (2.4m). I was told a 2.4m dish would get me BBC & ITV here in Corfu. Only after I built the dish was I told that the petalised dish is not good enough and does not provide the signal of a solid dish of the same size. I am using a Pearl 0.3db (reputed) LNB and am getting CH4 but not the BBC or ITV channels, although I get a "blocky" BBC2 now & again. I have been advised to try the Invacom Quad Output LNB as this has received great reviews in fringe areas. Does anyone know if this could make the difference? I used a local installer to find the signal for me and he found a strong signal but said the dish was not good enough for BBC etc.

You may or may not find a significant improvement by using an Invacom, you may gain some improvement by checking that the dish is perfectly assembled, there are a couple of threads on here explaining methods of accurate petal assembly.

However, just looked at the reports on the Astra2D site and there is a guy there on Corfu with a Channel Master 2.4 and he can't get the BBCs. http://www.astra2d.com/greece.htm

What is the make and model of your digibox?

My Digibox is a Pace DS430N

I don't think it will completely solve your problems but changing the LNB for a C120 twin or quad invacom with adjustable feedhorn and using a pace 2600 digibox will definately improve your lot!
