Coship:Do I have to upgrade bootloader??

I have an original coship 2300A with bootloader 3901
I see software around which states bootloader 3902, do I have to upgrade to this bootloader in order to use the emu firms?

Also I have seen around that coship need female/female serial cable, I tried with a normal serial cable with gender changer but no luck with connect. Then tried with null-modem cable and it was connect success, also managed to read file off stb with nullmodem.

Are there different models around??????? some use serial some use null?

I have managed to patch my coship, but not without problems.

Before beginning with this I was familiar with Kaon and this Coship thing was all new to me. I have to say the Kaon is a LOT simpler to program!

First of all I had to use a NULL-Modem cable to program mine...
Upgrading the boot was a must so I did it, it went fine no problems........
Then I did the first mistake... I used the same program for flashing it seemed to go just fine and the stb reported with good in the display, so I turned it off and then ON again... it was all black! Just red light!!! Tried putting in original soft with original uploader... no go no contact with stb... was thinking of giving it up, but then tried upload soft 3.4 , turned on stb while it was searching for it.. it started to program... reported good after finish... turned it on Oh yes... it worked... but there was no sound on ANY channels... tried everything even loading the soft again.. but no go.

Then loaded the box with some older french software,this time with upload 3.2 software, in the menu info I entered 9999 there is a menu for changing sound output between a-b changed it, the stb asked for confirm and it rebooted.. sound came back!!!!!!

Now everything is working!!!!!!

hello sir, I have damaged up my kaon receiver. will u help me? what I did was that I updated my kaon receiver given by dishtv India with the firmware of ksc570. everything worked fine but no signal and no sound. I have heard that kaon receivers r very easy to patch. please guide me and please help me. I am a beginner and really exited about all these. I spend a lot of time on net for all these kaon models.

any way, when I boot my receiver called Kaon KSC100MCO, then I receive some message in windows hyper terminal. I am pasting those messages here. May this help you in understanding my kaon model.
