Current low SNR on ART Channels Hotbird?

I take it this is due to the white skies at present (Snow) in the North of England? Could anyone confirm this, as I seem to be getting less signal that usual on most channels.

Ha didn't think so, so not a good time to do a full multi sat scan then :-toilet

What happens when you put a glass of water in a microwave? the water molecules vibrate and water heats up. Same up above...... rain, hail, sleet or snow signal is absorbed and doesn't get to you. A minor addition to global warming no doubt but certainly not the best time to be scanning for weak signals

Art Sport pictures are low quality even when reception conditions are perfect.

Easy to work out why. Their signals are about 7 seconds behind real time - that's an awful lot of reprocessing and multiple bouncing of signals up and down from ground relays to satellite relays.
