I've just managed to arrange a trip to see my mother early in August. For the first time, I'll be flying into Leeds Bradford Airport. On arrival is it the custom to be "baht 'at"? I have no wish to offend local sensibilities and risk my hire car being divested of all four wheels in some strange initiation rite......

I am also packing T Shorts in case the legendary Yorkshire summer makes an appearance......

Ecky thump, mon brave!

On a serious note, LBA is not immune to the wholly avoidable Passport Control delays and the "waiting area" is v.small and cramped. Patience required.

In August, at the peak of Summer, the T-Short is patently unsuitable and you would be better advised to sport nothing more than a smile.

Thank you, I shall adopt the uniquely British attitude to queuing, 'shuffle, mutter and grumble'. I shall of course wear my smile (and possibly me 'at). I've also noted the dodgy landings there on Youtube so will be including extra underwear in my hand luggage.

'twas ( and still is) a typo of mine from some time ago which somehow seemed apposite and has taken on a life of its own.

...Could have been worse Gordon...
You could have created 'the bowler hat with sleeves' ...
Never was a more useless garment ...but it came to life in the silly pages (top tips or the classifieds) of VIZ ..if memory serves.

Peruse this page from an American 'Golfing Attire' online store. I suppose you could call them "tee shorts"........I'll get my coat.....and shorts....

..There's a thought CH ..
Did a lot of cycling in my Yoof ...including Manchester to Ryhl and back in 2 days ...back when I was fit.
..And such a Garment might have scared a few road users ..but would definately have been useful in the fight against the dread 'Scrot Rot' .
