Dell desktops, laptops, and tablets built since 2009 and running Windows can be exploited to grant rogue users and malware system-administrator-level access to the computers.

We're told this amounts of hundreds of millions of machines that can be completely hijacked.

This is made possible by five security vulnerabilities in Dell's dbutil_2_3.sys driver, which it bundles with its PCs

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
That's been highlighted quite a bit elsewhere, but not "so far" appearing to be a problem with our 2 old 1525's that have the "generic" MS versions of W10 (as opposed to Dell-specific versions)

Many of us have wiped our Dell's to get the bloatware off them (on my netbook the drive fried so it had a vanilla win 7 install on a replacement drive) but its currently unknown if this file is part of ther generic Dell driver pack applied to win 7 /10 as far as I can tell.

It's used purely as a server/development machine. The GUI is barely used.
