Hi All,

I'm trying to prepare for my first motorised install and I want to make sure I have all of the gear which I will need prior to starting the job. Would anyone advise getting a digital compass over a *normal* one? Are they reliable or not?

Cheers
Phil

No, spend your money on a budget satellite finder/meter, much better bet. :)

Hi Phil
I have a digital compass and they are accurate albeit a little over sensitive.
I always use my Silva orienteering compass for initial direction.
I would however agree with rolf about a sat meter.
Setting a sat dish purely with a compass takes a bit of practice.
