My Satellite Setup

Discovery, National Geographic, Animal planet, and Reality channels are all down today @ hotbird 13E...does anyone know why? I've heard that Cyfra changed the (nano)..don't know even the meaning of this :)

Yes they did. Still available on Sly Italia on 13E though.

A nano is just a labeled chunk of 'microcode'.

You don't sound silly, It's a very good question.

Unfortunately the vast majority of folks inhabiting these forums (myself included) are not close enough to the file-guys (those that spend countless weeks analysing the 1's and 0's) to know the answer, even though many of them like to imagine they are. I doubt that the files-guys are in a position to answer either at this early stage.

It's possible they will be back, and you should therefore hope, but not expect.

I think it will all hinge on how long it takes compared to how long it is before the provider in question upgrades the encryption technique/method further.

Thank you for being kind and thoughtful...acutally I'm totally overwhelmed to find a quick reply in this forum...being a newbie as I am makes it a bit difficult to get answers :)
