Nice feature Chris, have added my location, not particularly relevant to the fringe members, but keeps the ball rolling. :)

Have moved all posts regarding the Map, as the posts appear to be confusing the members as to what the map is supposed to show.

It is exclusively for the reception of Astra 28.2 East BSkyB, particularly with reference to Astra 2D.

LOL, very roughly, it would have to be in a tent or caravan there, as it's right out on the downs. ;)

Im on too - in the middle of nowhere up the northern half of the UK!

All 28E channels received loud and clear on an ex analogue 60cm round dish with new lnb. Even the weaker Eurobird S2 beams are adequate.

(Interestingly the map is wrong here - the road layout bears no resemblance whatsoever to whats actually on the ground!)

All,

I have just moved to Pakistan from Ukraine. I had a 1.8M dish in Ukraine and picked sky up fine (no BBC though)

I have hotbird here with an 8ft dish.

According to local satellite mags I can pick up Sky with a 12ft dish ....... (only cost £200 or so !!!). I have to confess, its seems like a long shot to me !!

Anyone outhere tested or had similar experience of being so far out of the footpint ? is this really possible ?

Seems unlikely at best to me !!!

I have just upgraded my dish from a Fortec 2.4m to a Solid 2.4m from Portugal, usin at the mo a Twin Invacom whereas on the Fortec I have a quad, will be changing those around in Mid Jan, I used the Lacuna meter to set up,, with 85% sig Strength and 91 on quality on Astra South beam., it took a bit of time to set up the Skew, and found the Focal length needed to be set in at 93.2cm but what an improvement in Reception, I am now receiving
BBC2 from about 1100 in the morning right thru with a little bit of Pixcelating at about 1700 in the PM,, Eurosport 1 no longer dissapears at about 4.30PM which is great as that means I will be able to see the end of the motor GP;s. and I can now receive ITV Midlands South all day,, this is only my second day so will confirm time and fadeouts by end of Jan, will update my Map info then also

28E 19E on 120cm Gibertini homemade sidemount with Gibertini feedhorn, Inverto C120. 5E 1W on 85cm triax. Digiality VC-CI 204 and Triax dvb-65s receivers. Matrix-cam not working. Swedish Canaldigital "local", Norwegian Viasat.

Got the dish up, struggling with neighbors tree but still getting most of the free channels.
ITV3 is usually ok but not BBC234, dont know why but horizontal is weaker here.
Also problems with skew, the Inverto is very good but only one pol. at a time..
Fixing that hopefully will have also BBC234 24/7 except heavy rain, snow is not problem yet. Tried with a Quattro 0.6dB MTI and were getting about the same reception. Also changed receiver from Digiality vc-ci204 to triax dvb 65s made a little better reception, keeping the Dig. because I like it better and more stable.
Some people state they live in nowhere , think I have beaten that now though right now I am studying in Sweden.
Next time I will be adjusting with tv so I am sure I get maximum which I dont have right now.

60 cm dish I do get Europe TV from Optus B3 sat go on Google search find it. http://www.lyngsat.com/optusb3.html

come to the BIG Sky Digital survey. Please click HERE and enter your location in to our map and enter the size of your dish your using to receive Sky Digital 28.2E. Also please add any notes e.g. "No Channel 4 at night" If you can't receive 28.2E please enter "No signal here". We hope to build a clear picture of what is needed to receive 28.2E in fringe reception areas around Europe and that this will benefit other members in the future when setting ]
