Hi, I have had a port go down on my 4 way switch, and am looking to replace. As one of my dish sizes is marginal will the noise figure be a likely issue
The one i currently have is quoted at 3db and seemed fairly ok as short good cable runs, and of course are v cheap. Some quote this mystical 0.1db figure and are double or more the price. Is it worth the extra in anyones experience ?
Using with an 80cm with 2 LNBs for 13/19E, a 60cm for 28E, and an appx 80cm motorized for the rest

Thanks, Andrew

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

When you mention a four -way switch, what model is it ?

Passive switches driven by the receivers own power from the tuner are rarely as good as a mains powered or PSU connected option.

The port of the 4/1 switch hasn't gone down by the motor current, I hope?
Or you might have to change your setup a bit.

For 4/1 switches I usually don't use the cheapest ones.
Normally the Signal Quality stays about the same, with or without a switch, I believe. Don't know how other specs (such as port isolation) affect reception.

Hi, Thanks, no its just for IF signal not motor, its a 36v HH motor, i suspect there will be little difference in the dB anyway, i will maybe get a middle of the road price rather than a cheapo though, just wondered if anyone had done any comparisons etc
cheers

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Take a look at those from EMP-Centauri - detailed specs & instructions, and very good tech support.
Many are available from ebay, but you can buy direct from them (if a bit complicated to do) for those that aren't.
