Caught these while passing in Negrais, Portugal. Must be some farmer who's growing dishes(or that guy I was telling you about who gets the BellVu package!), he calls himself "Marconi", but he's doing a great job breeding them. Take a look at the big fella'!

Great pictures, thanks a lot :)

I wonder if these monsters would be able to catch even few frequencies from satellites aimed to North or South America. But there are also quite a lot beams from eastern, northern Europe and the Mideast that could leave some peaks on a spectrum analyzer. Is there any information for weak satellite reception in Portugal ? I mean those that need far more than 1.80m

Please tell us more about the guy who gets the BellVu package, as I'm dying to know more. I've already done a search on 'BellVu' on this forum and it turns up only this thread!

Rato2, you went to lunch leitão (roast suckling pig)!!
It’s a famous local specialty from Negrais.

I live on a small village next to it and sometimes pass there when I’m riding my bike, or when I have to go to a big graveyard on a hill next to that center.

Ten years ago it used to have twice the antennas it has now, and at least 3 big big dishes.

I know the center used to have a strict security policy and the people who work there weren’t even allowed to receive personal visitors.

Regarding the function, its the UplinkStation teleport ( w_w.uplinkstation.com/ss/Sintra.html ). Satellites Eutelsat W2, Intelsat 907, Hispasat 1D.
