Has anyone any suggestions why I have suddenly got a NO SIGNAL! display on every channel on every satellite on my technomate 5500CIP? Does this indicate a bad connection, faulty lnb or receiver fault?
Will be going up the ladder tomorrow to check the dish (bit windy here in Derbyshire, but nothing too severe). If anyone can offer a likely cause I would be grateful.

First thing to do is go into the motor menu and pick the option to send the dish to zero or reference, it is not uncommon for DiseQc motors to get lost and doing this resets to a known position.

If all of the connections are checked out ok and dish has moved, it is most likely to be the motor mount on the pole which has swung around slightly.

Congratulations on Reading's promotion!

Thanks but I do not have a diseq motor - the technomate receiver is motorised.
I have noticed that sometimes, when I move from (for eg) Hotbird to Sirius, I very briefly get an image from the Hotbird channel while in transit so to speak. Does this suggest that the lnb is ok but the motor did not move the dish to the correct position....even if the tv display indicated it had?
Any help appreciated. Yesterday we got tps back after an upgrade to pedator 3.32, saw Taquilla for the first time...and now this happens!

Most members fill in their profile with a list of their equipment, saves asking questions.
As Rolf mentioned, sometimes my TM5000DA loses direction, sending the dish on a quick trip to reference (ie 0 degrees) solves the problem.

Thanks but I don't know what sending the dish on a trip to reference or zero degrees means. I have looked through my menu display and can't see how to do this. Can you help further?

My "Satellite setup" display presently looks like this:

Satellite ..................... Hotbird
Satellite position .............. 013 deg East
LNB type ..................... Universal
LO high .......................... 10600 mhz
LO low ........................... 09750 mhz
Diseqc switching A/B/C/D ..... None
*Polarity control ................. 14/18V
0/12V switch ................... 0V
*0/22 KH2 switch ............... AUTO
Link search ...................... ON

I have put a * next to the items that cannot be adjusted with the satellite remote control.
Does that help??

Click on menu on remote
Right click until Installation highlighted
Down click until Auto Search highlighted and press OK
Down click to highlight Motor Setting
Right click until USALS highlighted press OK
Down click until Motor Control highlighted
Right click until Goto Ref highlighted press OK
New box on screen asks "are you sure"
Left click to OK highlighted press OK key
Dish should now Goto Ref or 0 degrees
Keep clicking EXIT key until you are out of installation
You should now be able to send the dish to the designated position.

Thanks but it didn't work - I can't highlight MOTOR SETTING. There is an option which reads:
DISEQC MOTOR SETTING ...............DISABLE
But I cannot access it with my remote, the cursor just jumps down to the next option down the menu which is MOVE MOTOR ......4852
If I right click the 4852 changes to 4853, then 4854 and so on.

I was able to access USALS and 'gotoref' by turning the positioner to off but it made no difference. I moved the dish and lnb manually, again no difference. Good news for our local satellite engineer it seems.

The diseqC settings will not do anything, as you are using a 36v motor.

If you are getting a brief glimpse of a channel when the motor is heading for the satellite, then the cahnces are as said earlier, that the whole lot has slid around the pole slightly, so if you send the motor to a satellite, then go outside and try and move it slowly back in the direction from which it moved, you have a fighting chance of a quick solution.

I tried what you said but it didn't work. I got test card pictures and scrambled signals on a few Intelsat channels but no signal everywhere else.
