I guess this has been asked a thousand times before, but I'm new to satellite as I have cable in the UK, but I've bought a house in northern Brittany and want to recieve free channels only, including BBC & ITV on a Pace 2500. The Astra 2D footprint suggests a 50 cm dish is OK, it doesnt mention 40/43 cm, but I've been told rightly or wrongly that I need a 60 cm zone 2 dish. Any help greatly appreciated.

A standard minidish should be fine there, a slightly larger dish is always better though as you will be less likely to lose the signal in bad weather, it doesn't have to be a zone 2 minidish, any 60cm dish with a universal LNB will do.

As of some time in July, all of the BBC channels will be free to air, but ITV and channels 4 and 5 will not be, it is not yet known if and how it will be possible to get a free to view card for them.
