I have a motorised dish that works with DiSEqC motor, and for some reason it won't move. Looks like the motor is knackered because they receiver works and the LNB is receiving signal but not from a satellite because it's pointing in the wrong direction.

It's only 10 months old. Any ideas if can be "jumpstarted" from the sat box? Thanks. :)

:)

Don't really follow your logic there, how can you be sure it works and is receiving a signal if you are stuck 'off satellite'? If you are 'off satellite' it is unlikely you will be receiving any signal despite what the on-board meter may be saying.

Make sure your F-connectors are tight, as that may cause problems.

If you get it back on sat, by-pass the motor, connect the coax direct to the lnb. See if you get a picture;)

Thanks for the replies, chums. :) It's much appreciated. The dish's too far up the wall, to go up the ladder, I leave that to the professionals.

As regards "signal level", it was showing some signal strength, but not sufficient to get a proper signal as the dish wasn't pointing at any specific satellite.

I fiddled with the receiver last night and tried to get the dish to move, from east to west. By the looks of the outside, it looks like it's came off the sat track.

The dish moved. I had Astra 2, then it moved again. I spent a further 20 minutes inside the house, on the receiver fiddling with the east and west, and then the dish landed on Sirius, on Hustler. No joking mates, but that's where it is now. I might leave it there a couple of days.

A rude picture is better than nothing at all. I don't know what the problem was...It's done this before last January but I had it down as bad weather.

Saturlight. :)
