Film giant Disney is planning a new general entertainment channel to be carried on the digital terrestrial television platform, Freeview.

The channel will transmit a mix of lifestyle programmes, films, sport and other programming from Disney's library.

Disney has signed a carriage deal with SDN, the Welsh consortium that has capacity on Freeview.

A winter launch is expected for the new channel which will not carry the Disney brand.

That sounds like a welcome addition to the Freeview bundle Net1, gets better and better, will certainly please present box owners. :)
