hi

My dreambox is connected through eithernet Lan to ADSL router (speedtouch 585 v.6). My pc is wireless connected to the router using PCI Ralink wireless card.
Now, when using WinIF or any other streaming softwares to watch channels on PC, after some times, say 10-20 minutes, image freezes.

Dreambox is 7000S, I tried, Gemini, Colosseum, and Nabilosat and gave same result.

How can I solve this problem? any suggestions?
thanks

I seem to remember there were lots of posts about the 7000 and networking problems.

Have you tried search and looked in the 7000 section (you may need to go back a year or so)?

I searched, but really don't find a solution for this problem.
All other network relates stuff are fine, I mean I can download my recordings from DM to PC without any problem, I can update/install images, and .. etc.
Only this freezing problem, and I couldn't figure it out yet.

Does it freeze when using Firefox (and VLC plugin) to watch the Dreambox on your PC?

yes, It freezes when using winif with firefox. It freezes also when using dreamstream or deamview. Freezing will occur after 10-15 minutes or so.

Plug your PC into the router using a CAT5 cable. Can it access the Internet?

Just to add to this.

I figured out that, when streaming channels, VLC creates a temp file in windows Temp directory and this file grows and becomes a very large file, consuming HD space.

This could be the main reason why streaming stops after sometimes, as HD becomes almost full.

In VLC website, I found a topic related to this problem, all are experiencing the problem with disk space when streaming through VLC.

http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=26969&p=83149&hilit=temporary+file#p83149

I'm not sure if other softwares are doing the same.
