this is mine dmyco v8

The serial number that comes up on the screen is familiar to a number of similar satellite finders, it does not relate to the box you have.

If you check the battery size, and find it is 3000mA then it is a clone of the GT Media box (which is supplied with a 4000mA unit). There are some other differences, but this is the easiest way to check.

Yes its wrotten on the battery:

Hysincere 456098
3000mAh 7.4V 251P

Then i think its not possible to upgrade more.

Hey, mine is exactly the same as yours @antrabe and mine upgraded np the USB stick used was formatted in NTFS not sure that would make a difference. make sure you take the bin file out of the zipped file and put it on to the root of usb stick, and the battery is the same too.

Yes... I found 3000mA. Upgrade using firmware Gt-media only forced mode. Don't recognize bin file using menu upgrade. Then, after upgrade, appear GT-Media logo, but blocked dish setup only.

Try this, no guarantees.
My device Dmyco v8 finder, information: Model DMYCO V8 Finder, HW version 1.1.0 15/12/2017, SW version 3.02.118.629 15/12/2017.
Your firmware is not recognized by my device.
What I did.
  1. The first probe of upgrade and backup firmware failed.
The device recognized USB flash device, did not see firmware files at the upgrade option and the backup option failed with a 'write error' message. Reason - USB size too big, 64GB formatted to exFAT.
  2. The second probe succeeded with USB flash device 2GB formatted to FAT32.
The name of file is not important.
I did a backup saved to default name DMYCO_finder_flash.bin.
An upgrade was done with a firmware from downloaded file iBRAVEBOX_V8 FINDER 20220510.zip. Logo iBravebox, clearer text on the screen, information: Model V8-Finder, HW version 1.1.0 05/10/2022, SW version 3.02.118.629 05/10/2022. Versions the same, dates newer.
  3. The device does not recognize Channel Hopper's firmware.
I did a comparison of some firmware files in hex editor
  1. My device Dmyco v8 finder, HW version 1.1.0 15/12/2017, SW version 3.02.118.629 15/12/2017 (V71 model)
  2. iBRAVEBOX_V8 FINDER 20220510 (V71 model)
  3. FREESAT_V8_Finder_20190604 (V71 model, Freesat brand renamed to GTMedia at 2019)
  4. Channel Hopper's firmware DMYCO_finder_flash.bin (V73 model), date 17/03/2020. It is GTMedia V73 firmware.
  5. GTMEDIA_V8Finder-METER_20190521 (V73 model),
  6. GTMedia_V8Finder_Meter_V163_20210604 (V73 model)/
There are v8 Finder meters based on version V71 and newer V73. Dmyco, iBRAVEBOX_V8 and FREESAT are V71 version.
GTMedia V8 Finder meter is V73 version.

Best regards

I have seen a yout..e video where GTMedia V8 Finder meter gold version was able to receive frequencies below 950MHz (250-950MHz).
I was full of hope that my Dmyco V8 finder could do it. Unfortunately, it doesn't. Now I know that GTMedia V8 Finder meter Gold is V73 version.
Could someone confirm that GTMedia V8 Finder meter Gold is able to receive frequencies below 950MHz? The video name is 'Configuring the GT Media V8 Gold Satellite Finder for Terrestrial Digital Amateur TV Reception'. Maybe is available another version of V8 Finder meter besides V71 and V73.

Do you know anything else about V8 Finder meter capabilities to receive frequencies below 950MHz? Is there only some part of GTMedia V8 Finder meter able to do it like the gold version only?

I have a v8 finder "clone" too using Dymco firmware. No new updates

I tried install "official" firmware using forced mode, but don't work some options. I don't remember now.
