Do you ever have a period when "everything goes wrong" because I'm having one now?

If they were the instant kind, then you have talent there!!! :-lmao
They were!
Induction hob "Power Boost" mode on, turned around to wash a bowl, instantly boiled dry and burnt.

Well, today!:
Went outside this morning and discovered that I must have left the Octavia unlocked last night - and I hope the low-life who rummaged around in it thought it was worthwhile, because all he got was a cheap car USB phone charger and a pair of gloves (dirty hands for the use of)

Took the Oct for its MoT, and it failed on 2 small issues:
- one headlight out of alignment - fair enough, that can happen
- AND (would you believe it!) the horn was considered too raucous/shrill (probably because I'd added a small Steibel Nautilus electric air horn in addition to the puny OEM fit horns). Somewhat "flabbergasted", I asked if they were "serious" and they said YES. So went outside and ripped the wires off the air horn relay so that it didn't then work with the OEM horns, and then I asked "is that OK" - and they said YES! They then adjusted the headlight and the car passed via a "retest" ! (Got home, found a replacement relay because I had damaged the mount of the existing one, and reconnected the air horn - all good now":-rofl2)

Yesterday was one for me, knocked over a freshly painted part and got it covered in dirt/hair.
broke my plastic shed thing I keep the strimmer in and car jack/axle stands.
Burnt noodles.
Cut myself multiple times.

Then tried to get out of going to my friends house to fix his turntable as he has a £500 stylus and the deck I'd dread to think what it's worth.
But that went okay...
Blimey...he must trust you then. I take it you didn't tell him you were having a bad day until you fixed it! Hope you didn't scratch his records!

I was really sorry to hear about your car.

Did you report it to the police? Did the low life leave any fingerprints?

(My polo has an auto lock feature, it’s good for locking your keys in the car)

Didn't even consider informing the police, as they are so busy that won't even bother look at anything unless there is cast-iron video evidence of who did it . Also the insurance is due for renewal within a couple of weeks or so, and so the last thing I want is a "black mark" on the policy records for something as trivial as the loss of a charger and a pair of gloves (OTOH, they missed the somewhat more valuable stuff under the false floor of the boot area - otherwise they would have got some decent tools, an electric tyre pump, jump leads and so on!)

My car only auto-locks the doors if you unlock it remotely and then don't open one of the doors within 30-60 secs.

PS: that air horn + OEM-fit horn arrangement: I did point out that that no comment/fail had been given when the car with the same arrangement was tested at the same Kwikfit branch a year ago; and then asked if the relevant MoT "rules" had changed in the meantime, and the reply was NO. However, the test personnel HAVE changed in the last few months and so, it seems to me, that passing or failing this particular part of the test is very "subjective" on the part of the particular test technician .
