Hi all,

I am looking at buying one of these Hobby CAM's soon and I would just like to know the major differences between the Dragon 4.1 and the T-Rex Supermodule 4.6?

Do they both still use the same Firmware’s (Predator) and do they both do the exact same job? I guess if the Firmware’s will stop for the Dragon 4.1 one day but continue for the T-Rex 4.6 then this will be the CAM I will get.

I am just having trouble seeing the differences between them apart from appearances, thanks in advance for all the help.

Kind regards,

Kevin

The Diablo Cam currently opens more, is half the price, and has better support.
The T-Rex super 4.6 only opens Premiere, which the ordinary Dragon doesn't, but Premiere is widely available on a lot of patched receivers. The Diablo has Premiere, TPS and Polsat, as well as D+ and Cabo, but the last 2 might not be available for too much longer.
With the Diablo you will need a Cas 3, but you can get a Diablo and Cas 3 for a similar price to the T-Rex 4.6.

Does the Diablo Cam do NDS (Videoguard) as this is the system I want to work on?

Not sure what it will open in your neck of the woods, but you can use an NDS (S*Y) card in one over here, it won't open NDS without one.

Oh I know it wont work over here, although the encryption is NDS there is a small difference I have heard as News Corp holds the rights over here and they have something going on in the encryption, I am going to work on it for a hobby make some changes study some more rip my hair out etc etc, I can use it for my Ird2 Sub I have between working on itm so thats the reason I want one.

To get the software for the Dragon cam just type predator369 into a search engine, no spaces, and you will soon find it.
Unfortunately official support, for these cams, ended some time ago but you can still find modified versions of predator 369, with updated keys, but I doubt that there will be any new predator firmware releases.

No Cam, or Card, opens Premiere as it is now using Nagra 3 encryption.
Support for the T-Rex 4.6 Supermodule was very short lived and now it only opens what's available on general emulation, like Digi TV.
