Hi All,
I've just got a new Dragon Cam with 2 cards, a loader card, and an access card 9.
My Satellite receiver box is a technomate TM-1600 2CI.
I've also got an Infinity USB Unlimited card reader.

So far I've done there following after searching on this forum for help.

Selected Wafer 16F84A
Loaded load2mb
Switched Infinity to VCP mode in 6 MHz Phoenix
Started Dragonload.exe
Selected COM2
It connected
Selected .dra file to load
Switched receiver on then put it on a FTA channel
Switched receiver off and inserted Dragon Cam + loader card

Unfortunately when I go to the common Interface of the section of my receiver's options and it just says slot1# and slot2#
I will then press the ok button on both and nothing happens.

I'm starting to think if my Dragon Cam is ok.
Where I'm I going wrong here.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Stephen! Usually it take a couple of minutes if it's the first time you shove the CAM in to the receiver. It has to initialize first by exchanging crypto id's with the receiver. Give it a few min. and then go again to the Common Interface menu. My Nokia took about 6 to 8 min. the first time. It even did a reboot of the receiver! But now everything is normal.

Hi Stephen_,
providing your Dragon Loader card hasn't got fun 7 written on it, and you have the latest drivers for your Infinity, try this:
Start up your Infinity, not in phoenix mode.
from the drop down box, choose DragonloaderCard (PIC)
leave the PIC box and load the Predator441.dra file into Ext EEprom
choose option 2 reverse span and write.
After the programmer has finished loading follow these instructions for updating your Cams firmware:
Make sure your receiver is tuned to a FTA channel, I use BBC world, turn off your receiver.
Insert the programmed card into the Dragon module, chip face up. If the Cam is not already in the receiver insert it.
Turn on your receiver.
Go to the Common interface menu on the receiver, and select the "Dragon Loader" module.
In the next menu, select "yes, Load module".
Now a menu appears indicating that loading is in progress. To see the actual progress percentage, select "refresh". There is no auto-refresh because some receivers had problems with that....
When loading is complete, a menu appears saying "Loading successful". REMOVE the loader card from the module, and switch off and turn back on the receiver.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes

Thanks for your replies Rato, Mickha, so far no joy.
The package I got was http://www.satstore.co.uk/cams.htm

Is it possible to test individual hardware? I say this because the package I got came with an access card 9. Now I'm thinking that if the Dragon cam was working ok then in theory the access card should just work out the box?

The cam uses a PCMCIA slot. Would it be possible to plug that into my laptop and load some kind of software just to see if it's working ok?

Hi Stephen_,
no you can't test the Dragon Cam in a PCMCIA slot, there was a problem with the Dragon 4 version and some receivers, the fact that the newer Dragon Cam was larger than most other Cams, due to the twin card reader function, meant it didn't fit into the CI slot, and had to be forced in. This was remedied by users shaving a little of the plastic from one of the receivers CI slots, but as your receiver is fairly new I should think that the CI slots were better designed to accommodate the larger Cams.
The first thing you need to check is that the Cam is fully inserted into your receiver, ensure that your receiver is switched off and check that the Cam can be freely inserted into your receiver, try both slots.
Providing you've left the receiver on a FTA channel, and you're sure the Cam is inserted fully, insert the loader card, and switch on your receiver, and check the menu.
If your receiver still doesn't recognise the Cam, then you could be right and you will have to return it to your supplier to check it.
Please post back with the results.
Best wishes
Mickha
