I can hear the teeth sucking, and "Oh no told him so." as I type!:)

I have loaded a Dragon Cam (with the previous version software) into my Humax9100. All seems well, I can go into setup and input my Sky box number, but (with my Sky card in) it still is unable to decode channels. Any ideas as to what I may be doing wrong please?

Hi John T,
most of the time the problem is not getting the serial number correct, but you should still get the basic channels, from the Predator readme file:
Important: in order for the Sky UK NDS premium channels to work you
need to (apart form subscribing that is..):
-Tell your Dragon the serial number of the original Sky box your card is married to.
You can find this 10-digit number in the menu of your original Sky box,
services->system setup->system details.
You need the SERIAL NUMBER (and NOT the viewing card number!)
Now go to the menu of you Dragon, settings->NDS Box serial.
Here, enter the 10 digit serial number including any leading zeroes.
If your NDS card was already inserted into the Dragon, remove and
re-insert it after changing the Box Serial.
Now you're all set!
Failure to set the box serial will result in movie channels and other premium channels not opening.
The simplest faults are, having the card inserted incorrectly, should be chip facing upwards.
A patched receiver causing problems with the Dragon Cam.
If these are not the problems please post back
Best wishes
Mickha

Thanks for your help Mickha, still not working. First I did have the card upside down, not realising that they go in the other way up to the Sly box, however it still does not work. I have tried every combination I can think of, including trying both slots of the CI.
I was supplied with the Dragon cam plus Prussian Galaxy5 card. The Dragon needed progamming, being ignorant I sent the Dragon off instead of the card, however that has been programmed with Predator 3.22.
So, I enter SYSTEM-STATUS-COMMON INTERFACE-SLOT1-SMART CARD on my Humax 9100.
( I have previously set the NDS Box serial number to the same as on my Sly box settings, which corresponds to the s/n on the box itself)
I then get:
Smart card unknown
1 ---
Not decoding

Your statement:
"A patched receiver causing problems with the Dragon Cam."
does not, I'm afraid, mean anything to me

any further help would be appreciated
Thanks
John

...they're hinting that NDS support is only out in the short-term ;)

Keep your mind on the subject John, keep your mind on the subject, not rhe avatar!;)
I did ask the chap who loaded my cam to put the version on that worked with NDS, I've emailed him to see if he can sort me out.
If not what other way is there to get regraded? Can I just send my card to someone to get it done? Also is it worth getting a programmer so that I can do any future updates myself? If so which one is recommended?
Thanks
John

Hi Micha,

I was wondering if you are kind enough to help out :-worship(or point us the right direction). Our provider in malaysia (Astro 91.5E) just changed from SECA2 to NDS. We have valid subscription card but was unable to view channels through my T-Rex Cam. Tried both the latest predator 368 & predasaur 226 files.

Here's some info on our provider.
_http://www.sat-television.com/showthread.php?t=50274

I was hoping to watch using valid subscription card through DVB-S (Twinhan) and T-rex CAM (for scheduled recording, etc) rather than through the original box. I have a Duolab CAS 3 programmer.

I hope you are kind enough to point me the right direction. Any help provided is highly appreciated, thank you.

Realise this is an old topic but not one person seems to have mentioned an important fact.

Sky White Cards dont work with Dragon CAM only the older Blue cards.....but the Predator file has to be patched with the correct CAIDs (Conditional Access IDentifier) 0961 for Sly UK Blue cards.

You can patch it with the DRA patcher or DragonCrypt or Pred Edit
